On Tuesday June, 19th Bradley Thoroughbreds, LLC made their first purchase for the new Ladies First Racing Venture. Hip # 53 a filly by Flashy Bull out of Karaka in of the OBS June Sale for $28,000. She is a beautiful gray filly with a big reach and stride on her as you can see above. She has already settled in to Michelle Nihei’s barn in Saratoga Springs, NY and Michelle loves her!
The Ladies First Racing Venture was designed to bring a dynamic group of women with a love for horses together and create a racing partnership dedicated to the fun and competition of thoroughbred racing. The horses will be trained by Michelle Nihei and the group is purchasing mainly fillies. This Flashy Bull filly looks like a great start! I would describe her as, a tough and gritty filly, I like fillies with a competitive attitude and she showed that in her work when she bellied down and galloped out nicely. I think we will have a lot of fun with this girl!
Flashy Bull, himself, was originally purchased at auction for $205,000 and earned $844,313 on the racetrack. He was a fast and precocious racehorse and stamps his progeny with those attributes. Below is YouTube video of his G1 Stephen Foster win at Churchill Downs.
