Pinhook Grad Commanding Curve Wins at Churchill

COMMANDING CURVE was sent off as the co-favorite for the fourth race at Churchill Downs on Saturday, November 30th. He broke a step slow, moving up and sitting 5th around the backstretch. When the field rounded the second turn in the 1 1/16th maiden event Commanding Curve was sitting in striking position third on the outside. When the field straightened out it was left up to HARBOR BOUND and COMMANDING CURVE. Commanding Curve took control and drew clear by a length and a half. The third place finisher, IRISH YOU WELL finished twelve lengths behind this gutsy pair. This Maiden win stamped this colt’s ticket for the 2014 Kentucky Derby Trail!

COMMANDING CURVE was purchased for $60,000 out of the 2012 Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale by the Bradley Thoroughbreds Pinhook Venture and resold for $75,000 at the 2013 OBS April Sale by West Point Thoroughbreds. Congratulations to his connections and good luck at the Fair Grounds!
