Arnold Zetcher LLC’s PINK LOLLIPOPS (Silver Deputy) collected her second win in five starts with another stylish victory at Santa Anita today. The BT program graduate, who broke her maiden sprinting six panels in 1:08 1/5 in a Santa Anita maiden special in December, was the crowd’s 2-5 choice to double up in a tough optional claimer at the same distance. Away like a shot from post two, the 4-year-old miss took back professionally as the leader tore through :21.62 and :44.38 splits. Pushed along to challenge at the quarter pole, PINK LOLLIPOPS came charging hard in the lane, overhauled the pacesetter at the furlong grounds and easily held the closer Melissa Rose at bay. The win, by a half-length, came in a time of 1:15.77 for the 6 1/2 furlongs and earned PINK LOLLIPOPS as 96 BRIS figure. The dark bay is trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert and looks destined for stakes company soon.
BT purchased PINK LOLLIPOPS privately on behalf of a client shortly after she RNA’d for $29,000 at the 2009 Keeneland September Sale. She later sold to Zetcher for $110,000 at OBS April. Congratulations to her connections.
