Premier Steps Makes a Return to the Races Today

Premier Steps (IRE) started off 2013 with a bang winning the $100,000 Sweetest Chant Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Beating subsequent (G1) winner Discreet Marq and (G2) winner Caroline Thomas. After an attempt at the polytrack in the (G2) Beumont Stakes at Keeneland and a fifth place effort in the $100,000 Hilltop Stakes at Pimlico Premier Steps was forced to the sidelines with an ankle injury.

After almost 6 months off she will return in the 7th race at Santa Anita today. “We felt California had a lot of opportunities for this filly and suited her running style”, said Peter Bradley of Bradley Thoroughbreds. The ownership group of Swift Thoroughbreds, Vintage Thoroughbreds, Michael E. Kisber, and Bradley Thoroughbreds also has a lot of California ties.

Twice (G3) placed in Europe Bradley Thoroughbreds has high hopes for this talented daughter of Footstepsinthesand and hopes a fresh start on the West Coast will be just what she needs. The race will be run at 4 PM PT or 7 PM ET.
