Cherubim Runs 2nd in (G2) San Vicente

Cherubim (3yo c. by HENNY HUGHES out of WINGS OF ANGEL) ran a solid second in the (G2) San Vicente on Sunday at Santa Anita. After breaking his maiden by 3 1/4 lengths earning a 90 Beyer on December 28th Cherubim was considered a colt to watch. Entering the (G2) San Vicente Cherubim was chosen as the second choice behind superstar KOBE’S BACK. Breaking from the #5 hole Cherubim jumped up in to first position on the outside setting very fast fractions of :22.3, :45, and 1:09.25 for six furlongs. When turning for home it was just Cherubim and Kobe’s Back left to battle it out. Hitting the 1/16th pole Kobe’s Back passed the colt with ease winning by 5 1/4 lengths and stopping the clock in 1:21.84. Cherubim ran a stellar race but was second best.

Purchased for $50,000 out of the OBS June Sale by Bradley Thoroughbreds on behalf of owner Jerry Frankel Cherubim was a bargain buy! We are looking forward to watching his promising career.
