Steve Asmussen

Steve Asmussen is a Hall of Fame trainer based at on the Midwest and New York circuit. He won the Eclipse Award for Champion Trainer in 2008 and 2009. Some of his most notable horses include Eclipse Champions GUN RUNNER, CURLIN, RACHEL ALEXANDRA, MIDNIGHT BISOU, MITOLE, MY MISS AURELIA and UNTAPABLE.  Additionally, he trained Breeders’ Cup winners TAPIZAR and REGALLY READY as well as G1 Belmont Stakes winner CREATOR.  In 2017 he swept the Breeders’ Cup Classic G1, Whitney Handicap G1, Woodward Handicap G1, and Stephen Foster Handicap G1 with GUN RUNNER.  He trained MG1W SHE’S A JULIE for BT from 2018-2020.  He has won over 9,300 races while accruing over $344,000,000 in career earnings.
