Songandaprayer the leading son of Unbridled’s Song at stud, will stand in 2013 at Harold Forman’s The Stallion Station at Copper Crowne near Opalousas, La.
Fifteen-year-old Songandaprayer will stand for $6,000 stands at nurses, or $5,000 payable Nov. 15 of the year bred. He is out of the multiple stakes-producing Premiership mare Alizea and will stand for a syndicate managed by Forman.
Songandaprayer, who formerly stood in Kentucky at John T.L. Jones III’s Walmac Farm, was North America’s leader by 2012 winners with 178 and ranked second with 27 juvenile winners. His 2012 progeny earnings of $6,173,866 would have led Louisiana’s sires’ list. His 2-year-old progeny earnings of $1,197,868 last year also would have been tops in Louisiana.
Songandaprayer’s 10 stakes winners of 2012 included Reveron, who won the Gulfstream Park Derby and finished second in the Florida Derby (gr. I), plus 2-year-old Just Got In.
Songandaprayer, whose major win as a racehorse came in the 2001 Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. I), also boasts big numbers careerwise. He has sired 30 stakes winners and the earners of more than $32.3 million.
The deal was brokered by Schumer Bloodstock and Bradley Thoroughbreds.
