TOAST OF NEW YORK (2012 c. by THEWAYYOUARE out of CLAIRE SOLEIL) romped in the (G2) UAE Derby at Meydan on Saturday, March 29th. Coming in to the race on a two race win streak the colt went off at long odds paying $27.20 to win under jockey Jamie Spencer. Toast Of New York has now earned $1,028,115 from five starts. This race allows the winner a spot in the (G1) Kentucky Derby on May 3rd at Churchill Downs. However, this colt will bypass that race with the long term goal of competing in the (G1) Secretariat Stakes at Arlington Park in August.
Bradley Thoroughbreds on behalf of Denali Stud and Craig Bandoroff purchased this colt’s half brother by Coolmore stallion CAPE BLANCO (IRE) for $95,000 at the 2013 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. The colt will be sold this year as a yearling. It was a great value buy and this colt provided a solid update to the family!
