Bradley Thoroughbreds and partners sent two runners out this weekend in competitive Stakes races along the East Coast. Both made great last to second place moves in all out fashion.
WATSDACHANCES (IRE) returned from a five month layoff on Saturday in the (G3) Gallorette Stakes at Pimlico. A tough group that included (G3) winners SOMALI LEMONADE and STARSTRUCK (IRE). “Chances” broke well under Javier Castellano and sat last by twelve lengths down the backstretch. When she turned for home she was forced to check on the rail causing her to have to regroup slightly. She then made a tremendous run but was not able to pass Somali Lemonade late, finishing second by 3/4 of a length. It was an impressive effort off of a five month layoff.
SWEET ACCLAIM (IRE) then took on a field of five on Sunday in the $100,000 Wait A While Stakes. Once again Javier Castellano was aboard for the ride. In a speedy group of five horses Sweet Acclaim (IRE) broke last settling just off the pace down the backstretch. When the field turned for home Javier swung the filly five wide making a strong run at RICHIE’S PARTY GIRL who made a move from the two path. The wire came up a bit too soon for Sweet Acclaim (IRE) and she was forced to settle for second.
It was a very solid run by both fillies and a great weekend overall!
