GOLDY ESPONY (FR) (2011 f. by VESPONE (IRE) out of GOLDY HONOR (FR)) bested a field of six fillies and mares on Friday, May 8th at Belmont Park. Javier Castellano piloted her to an easy trip over 1 1/8 miles on a firm turf course. She is owned in a Bradley Thoroughbreds’ Racing Venture and runs in the silks of Swift Thoroughbreds Inc.

Goldy Espony (FR) wins by a length at Belmont Park.
Goldy Espony (FR) wins by a length over Dido at Belmont Park.

She broke cleanly and found herself on the lead early, rolling through fractions of :25.2 and :50 for the half mile. Turning for home, Castellano asked her to extend her stride, and she did just that – drawing away by a length in the end. DIDO looked to challenge but GOLDY ESPONY (FR) held her off.

The filly is owned by Swift Thoroughbreds, Inc. and Bradley Thoroughbreds, and was bred in France by Henri Alex Pantall & Yvette Chabot. This was her first victory on American soil and she will step back in to Stakes company in her next start. Congratulations to all the connections!
