PLEUVEN (FR) won impressively at Gulfstream Park on Friday, March 6th. This was his second win of the meet. He put allowance foes away on January 17th in his first race back after a 10 month layoff. INCHCAPE, who finished 2nd behind PLEUVEN (FR) on the 17th came to win over the weekend at Gulfstream Park as well.
PLEUVEN (FR) broke well from the #1 hole laying fourth around the first turn and down the backstretch under John Velazquez. The fractions were quick up front with STORMING INTI going :23.3, :46.4, and 1:09.3 for six furlongs. At the 3/4 pole John Velazquez began to move and at the top of the stretch hooked up with STORMING INTI and rolled by easily. He won by 2 3/4 lengths in the end, stopping the clock in a speedy 1:32.57.
He is on a roll now with two wins on the meet. He will likely start next out at Keeneland’s spring meeting.
