On November 2nd at Aqueduct Racecourse Normandy Invasion romped by 9 1/4 lengths proving he is a 2yo dirt horse with a future. He broke towards the back of the pack and settled down on the rail. At the 3/4 pole he began making his move picking off the nine contenders one by one. Once he straitened out he began putting space between himself and his rivals. By the 1/16th pole he had an impressive 5 length lead and continued to kick home to hit the wire with a 9 length victory. He was much the best that day. Ridden by Jose Lezcano and trained by Chad Brown.
Normandy Invasion did not meet his reserve of $145,000 at the Keeneland September 2011 Yearling sale. He was then purchased privately post sale by Bradley Thoroughbreds Pinhook Venture and put in training with Eddie Woods in Ocala. At the Keeneland April Sale in 2012 Normandy Invasion was purchased for $230,000 by Fox Hill Farms. Watch out for this guy in the upcoming 2yo stakes races this year!
