BT Pinhook Grad V.E. Day Pointed for Travers

V. E. Day came out for a seven furlong breeze on Friday, August 18th at Saratoga. He was the only horse to work that distance on the day and went in 1:30.18.

He was the impressive winner of the Curlin Stakes over this racetrack on Friday, July 25th. After almost walking out of the gate he made a last to first move that was jaw dropping!

This breeze was most likely his last work before the (G1) Travers on Saturday, August 23rd. There are fifteen nominees for the $1,250,000 event and it will surely be the test of V.E. Day’s lifetime.

According to Brisnet Jimmy Jerkens said: “I watched him when he turned for home down the backside and when (Pahal) asked him, he really took off. I was happy with that. It looked like he galloped out real strong, so he had to go a mile in 1:43, at least, or 1:42 and 3, something like that because he was galloping out every bit as strong as he was finishing.”

Jerkens added that the chestnut son of English Channel is “pretty much” confirmed for the Travers.

V.E. Day is a graduate of the BT 2012-2013 Pinhook Venture. He is owned by longtime client and friend Magalen O. Bryant. Bradley Thoroughbreds wishes him the best of luck on Saturday!
